CMAS training is renowned worldwide for its thoroughness and depth. At our dive school in Kamala we train you to the standards of the Confédération Mondiale des Activités Subaquatiques – in Germany known through the VDST.
The CMAS 1-star course is the foundation of your dive training. Unlike other agencies, CMAS places particular emphasis on a solid theoretical base and extensive practical in-water training.
In small groups we teach you equipment handling and underwater safety. On completion you are qualified to dive worldwide.
Requirements: Minimum age 14 years, valid dive fitness certificate.
Duration: approx. 4 days including theory, pool sessions and 5 open water dives.
The CMAS 2-star course teaches you to lead dive groups safely in straightforward conditions. We deepen your knowledge of underwater navigation and group leadership.
This course makes you a valued dive buddy who can keep a clear head and take responsibility even in more challenging situations.
Requirements: CMAS * / Bronze, minimum 25 logged dives.
Content: Includes specialty courses in navigation and group leadership.
As a CMAS 3-star diver you master the organisation and leadership of dives even in demanding conditions. It is the highest level for recreational divers.
The focus here is on professional-level emergency management and the perfect organisation of dive groups.
Requirements: CMAS ** / Silver, minimum 65 logged dives.

Yes, CMAS is one of the oldest and most respected dive organisations in the world. A CMAS certification is accepted at dive centres worldwide, whether on holiday or at your local club.
Yes, CMAS places a traditionally high value on health and fitness for diving. We recommend a dive medical certificate for all CMAS courses, which should be no more than one year old.
CMAS courses tend to be more technically oriented and include exercises at beginner level that other agencies typically cover later. There is less e-learning and more direct theory instruction from the instructor. Many European divers choose CMAS for its rigorous, structured approach.
Absolutely. A crossover is possible at any time. For example, a PADI Open Water Diver can enter the CMAS 2-star course provided they can demonstrate the required number of logged dives.
CMAS sets the minimum age at 14 years for the 1-star course due to the more demanding theoretical and practical content. For younger divers (from age 10) we recommend starting with a PADI or SSI Junior Open Water Diver course.
